The action before the Council is the adoption of a resolution regarding the Heritage Park Parking Lot Resurfacing project which involves ordering construction, setting a public hearing date on the Contract Documents (plans, specifications, form of contract), and estimated total cost and setting a date for the filing of bids on the project.
The Heritage Park Parking Lot Resurfacing project includes the rehabilitation and widening of
the existing parking lot at Heritage Park along Frisk Drive in Ankeny, Iowa. The project also
consists of earthwork, PCC curb and gutter, driveway replacement, painted pavement markings,
pipe culvert installation, erosion control, surface restoration, and other associated work necessary to complete the project, generally located within the Heritage Park parking lot .
The project is being presented for bidding at this time. Pending project approval and award, the contractor will be required to start the project by no earlier than July 13, 2020 and no later than August 24, 2020, and they will have twenty (20) working days to substantially complete the project. Council approval at this time will set the following schedule for the proceedings:
1. Set Dates of Bid Opening and Public Hearing: May 4, 2020
2. Post the Notice to Bidders and Notice of Public Hearing (Iowa League of Cities and Master Builders): May 8, 2020
3. Publish the Notice to Bidders and Notice of Public Hearing: May 15, 2020
4. Bid Opening (10:30 A.M., Ankeny Public Services Building): May 26, 2020
5. Public Hearing and Contract Award: June 1, 2020
