The action before the council is the adoption of a resolution accepting a proposal from TK Concrete, Inc. for the 2020 Georgetown and White Birch Park Shelter Pads project.
The 2020 Georgetown and White Birch Park Shelter Pads project includes the installation of park shelter pads and adjacent sidewalk at both Georgetown and White Birch park. The Georgetown Park construction area is located at 2625 NW Ash Drive and the White Birch Park construction area is located at the corner of SW 35th Street and SW White Birch Drive.
The construction improvements include mobilization to the site, approximately 44 CY of Class 10 excavation, the placement of a 2" subbase, 140 SY of 5" reinforced PCC pavement, 49 SY of sidewalk removals, 150 SY of 6" PCC sidewalk, the installation of 8 reinforced PCC shelter footings, conventional seeding and fertilizing with BFM hydromulching for both permanent and temporary seeding, and a roll-off concrete washout container. Other associated improvements include any miscellaneous associated work necessary to complete the project.
Bid invitations were sent to fifteen (15) contractors that can complete this type of work. Two (2) bid were received for the project as follows:
