SUBJECT:
Consider motion to adopt RESOLUTION accepting funding from the Bureau of Justice Assistance for the Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding Program.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

The Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding Program will provide funding to assist eligible states, local units of governments, and tribes in preventing, preparing for, and responding to the coronavirus.  The funds can be used to cover overtime, equipment, hiring, supplies, travel and training costs as well as the medical needs of inmates in state, local and tribal prisons, jails and detention centers.

The Ankeny Police Department is eligible to apply for $47,865 and proposes to use the funds to purchase 2 decontamination systems to sanitize the facility and patrol vehicles and 11 laptop computers to provide additional remote working capabilities.
