The School Walkability Improvements will replace or construct fourteen (14) pedestrian ramps at crosswalks serving five elementary schools within the City of Ankeny. The schools are East Elementary,  Northwest Elementary,  Rock Creek Elementary, St. Luke Catholic, and Westwood Elementary

The construction improvements include approximately 30 SY of 4” thick sidewalk, 230 SY of 5” thick sidewalk and 145 SY of 6” thick sidewalk, 190 SY of 8” or 9” full depth Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) patches, 45 LF of 8” or 9” PCC curb and gutter, and 210 SF of detectable warnings.  Other associated tasks include sidewalk and curb and gutter removals, temporary traffic control, erosion control with temporary seeding, mobilization, restoration and miscellaneous associated work necessary to complete the project.
