RESOLUTION
providing for the notice and hearing of the City Council of the City of Ankeny, Iowa on a 28E Agreement approving an Annexation Boundary Agreement with the City of Alleman, Iowa. (date of hrg: 5/1/23 @ 5:30 p.m.)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The Ankeny City Council and Alleman City Council previously had an agreement establishing an annexation boundary regarding the future annexation of unincorporated land between Ankeny and Alleman. This agreement re-establishes the current boundary line related to planning review and annexation between the City of Ankeny and the City of Alleman. The effectiveness of the agreement enforces State Law that allows communities to agree on a common line which neither would cross with non-consenting or involuntary annexations. This agreement boundary is consistent with the Ankeny Plan 2040.
