The action before the Council is the adoption of a Resolution regarding the Delaware Ground Storage Reservoir Rehabilitation project which involves ordering construction, setting a public hearing date on the Contract Documents (plans, specifications, form of contract), and estimated total cost; and setting a date for the filing of bids on the project.
The Delaware Ground Storage Reservoir Rehabilitation project located at 6720 SE Delaware, includes abrasive blast cleaning the exterior surfaces with a containment system and an application of a 4 coat paint system. It will also include an abrasive blast cleaning of the foundation as well as a 2 coat paint system.
This project also includes the installation of an impressed current cathodic protection system, a sidewall manway, gasket on the wet interior roof hatch, deflector bar on the fill/draw pipe, overflow discharge modification, sidewall platform with vandal guard, pressure vacuum vent, roof handrail with painter's rail and sample tap, and any associated coating repairs to the wet interior.
The project is being presented for bidding at this time. Pending project approval and award by the City Council, the contractor will be required to start the project no earlier than September 1, 2023, and the tank will be eligible to be drained not earlier than September 11, 2023. The contractor will have until October 20, 2023 to fully complete the project. Council approval at this time will set the following schedule for the proceedings:
1. Set Date of Bid Opening and Public Hearing: April 17, 2023
2. Post Notice to Bidders and Notice of Public Hearing: April 19, 2023
3. Publish Notice to Bidders and Notice of Public of Hearing: April 28, 2023
4. Bid Opening (10:30 A.M., Public Services Building): May 9, 2023
5. Public Hearing and Contract Award: May 15, 2023
