RESOLUTION
accepting a proposal from Crouch Recreation in the amount of $90,000.00 for the purchase and installation of a playground for Midway Park.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The City of Ankeny desires to develop Midway Park and include a playground as one of the park's amenities. A request for proposal was sent to three playground vendors with concepts submitted with various playground layouts. The City of Ankeny conducted a Midway Park neighborhood playground vote to select the playground components and ultimately chose the proposal submitted by Crouch Recreation.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No
The development of Midway Park is included in the City's 2023 Capital Improvement Program.
CITY MANAGER'S RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff approves of playground purchase and installation.

PUBLIC OUTREACH EFFORTS:
Department staff held a park development meeting on March 2, 2023 regarding the neighborhood's construction of their future park. Public opinions and input were sought on the park's overall concept and included amenities. Park neighbors were invited to preview potential playground designs and vote on their favorite concept with the playground receiving the most votes ultimately being installed in the park.
