Consider motion to approve agreement with Barkpass, LLC for pet licensing software as a Service (SaaS).
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

The contract for animal licensing services with PetData, Inc. expires on June 30, 2023. After evaluating utilization and customer service, staff determined that expectations can be better met with another vendor. Staff has researched vendors who offer a user friendly, dedicated software for pet licensing and dog park pass issuance with an online payment portal. 

 

Barkpass, LLC provides 24/7 - 7 day a week online licensing, utilizing Stipe, a third-party payment processor, which follows Payment Card Industry Security Standards. Barkpass will link directly to the City's website. Current records will be converted for convenience of users.

 

PetData 2022 expenses totaled $ 13,388.32. The Barkpass annual subscription fee is $ 1,788.00. Barkpass receives 2.1% of the transaction and Strip receives 2.9% plus .30.  Estimated total annual fees are $ 8,600.13.

Annual expenses associated with animal licensing will decrease from $13,388 to approximately $8,600.
