The action before the City Council is the approval of a Professional Services Agreement with Snyder & Associates, for the design engineering services needed for the NW Northlawn Area Utility Improvements - Phase 3 project.
The scope of the project includes pavement reconstruction and utility improvements along NW Kline Street from West First Street to just south of NW 3rd Street, and NW 2nd Street from NW Kline Street to just west of NW Des Moines Street. These improvements will improve the condition of the street, sidewalk, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and water main infrastructure in this area.
The design of this project needs to be undertaken at this time so that the project schedule can be maintained. The Public Works Department proposes to use Snyder & Associates to complete the necessary design engineering services for this project. The scope of the design engineering services and corresponding fees are shown in the attached Professional Services Agreement. The total fee for the design engineering services is $72,350.00.
It is anticipated that this project will be bid in November 2023 for construction in 2024. It is recommended that the City Council approve the Professional Services Agreement with Snyder & Associates.
