| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: |
| The 28E Agreement between the Ankeny Community School District and the City of Ankeny, Iowa, effective June 17, 2024, establishes a framework for sharing student information between the District and the Ankeny Police Department. This collaboration aims to reduce juvenile crime, improve school safety, decrease substance abuse and truancy, and provide alternatives to suspensions and expulsions. Under this Agreement, the District can disclose student records relevant to the juvenile justice system, while the Police Department can share juvenile court records and other pertinent information. Both parties commit to maintaining the confidentiality of shared information, utilizing it solely for specified purposes, and implementing robust security measures. The Agreement is governed by Iowa law, has an initial one-year term with automatic renewals, and allows either party to terminate with proper notice. |
